Best Movie Funko Pop! Figures In 2023

Jan 25, 2024Jan 25, 2024

From Disney to DC, these are some of the very best movie Funko Pops on the market.

Funko Pop! figures have become so far-reaching that at last count, there were more than 13,000 of them to choose from. So unless you have more money than you'll ever need, and a boatload of time to boot, it has gone well past the point of any one person being able to own them all. Your best bet is to focus on one corner of the Funko Pop! world, whether it be Pokemon, Marvel, Disney, or something else.

While collecting every last Funko Pop! there has ever been is almost impossible, narrowing your collection down to a single franchise might not be your jam either. If you'd prefer to broaden your horizons and collect figures from movies you like, you've come to the right place. We've handpicked a selection of some of the very best movie-inspired Funko Pop! figures out there right now. Whether you're looking for something from a Hollywood classic or a recent release, I reckon there's a Pop! below for you.

Funko Barbie, Let's Go Party

The Barbie movie took over the world during the summer of 2023, so starting things with a Funko Pop! based on one of Barbie's looks from that movie feels fitting. More specifically, the sequence in the movie when Barbie dressed like a stylish cowgirl.

Yes, Oppenheimer was good, but Barbie stole Barbenhiemer weekend. Smashing box office records and looking good doing it, the Barbie movie wound up being a lot more than most people expected it to be. Funko clearly saw the writing on the wall as it had some Pop! figures ready to go, and Western Barbie is my personal pick of the bunch. What you really want from a movie Pop! is to instantly visualize the character or moment it depicts, and Western Barbie does that. If Western Ken or President Barbie are the characters who do that for you, they have their very own Pop! figures too.

Buy It, Get It, Stick It On A Shelf

Whether you love the books, the movies, even the games, Lord of the Rings has a special place in a lot of your hearts, and now this very cool Funko Pop! that captures one of Frodo's final moments in possession of The One Ring can be a part of that special place too.

Speaking of Funko Pop! figures that you need do no more than glance at for them to take you to an exact point in a movie, just take a look at this Frodo figure. If you have seen The Lord of the Rings movies, then you will have immediately been taken back to the Hobbit holding The Onr Ring over the fires of Mount Doom, unable to let go as the powerful bit of jewelry has such a hold over him. What a Pop! to have in your collection, and a welcome reminder to the owner ofMagic: The Gathering's One Ring card that they definitely should not scale a volcano so they can throw it in. There are really people who want to do that, by the way.

Under The Sea

The Little Mermaid is one of the latest Disney Classics to get the live-action remake treatment. Giving a whole new generation of fans an Ariel to idolize, those fans can now extend their adoration of the new mermaid through the character's very own Funko Pop! figure.

The Little Mermaid joined what has quickly become a long list of animated Disney Classics introduced to an entirely new generation of fans by giving it the live-action remake treatment. Performing incredibly well at the box office, whether you collect Disney Pops or just movie ones, odds are you're going to want Ariel. Funko Pop! figures, especially ones modeled after real people, can often be a little lacking, but this one definitely is not. An incredibly well-crafted Pop! fitting of any collection, or perfect for the little Little Mermaid fan in your life.

This'll Put A Smile On That Face

The Dark Knight is one of those rare movies pretty much everyone seems to love. With that in mind, I'm assuming a set of Funko Pops with the poster for the move as their backdrop will probably be pretty popular.

Christopher Nolan has been discussed at length in 2023 as he hit us all with his Oppenheimer biopic. As great as it was, my personal favorite Nolan movie, and potentially my favorite film of all time, is still The Dark Knight. One of the best Batman movies, one of the best DC movies, and perhaps the best portrayal of The Joker the world has ever seen. It deserves the very best Funko Pop! treatment possible, and putting its two main characters together as a set complete with a miniature version of the poster feels perfect.

Jurassic Park, It's A Massive Park

Sometimes a regular Pop! just isn't going to cut it. That's where figures representing entire movie scenes come in, and this one is lifted right out of Jurassic Park. The scene in which a T-rex breaks free from its enclosure and proceeds to cause havoc for some of the park's guests.

If sticking to Funko Pop! figures that represent a single character isn't your thing and you want a scene to be the focal point of your collection, might I suggest this absolutely iconic one from Jurassic Park? We all knew from the moment the movie started that locking dinosaurs up in a prehistoric safari park was a bad idea, but this scene was the first time that belief was confirmed. With the power down, the T-rex walked through the electric fence like Jeff Goldblum through shirt buttons. The chaos that comes next all happens because those kids just couldn't keep quiet and turn that damn torch off.

A Muppet Isn't Just For Christmas

Yes, I know it's a Christmas movie, but there's no rule saying holiday films can't be included. Gonzo and Rizzo from The Muppet Christmas Carol as a Funko Pop! set. I don't care what time of year it is, these two can and should be on display whether it's Christmas or not.

I know this isn't technically a list of Christmas Funko Pop! figures and you could really be reading this at any time of year, but the temptation to include Gonzo as Charles Dickens from The Muppet Christmas Carol was too hard to resist. Mainly because even though it costs the same as a regular Funko Pop!, and a lot less than some others, it comes with a little Rizzo. When you're getting two figures for the price of one, and those figures are based on characters from one of the greatest movies ever made (and I'm being deadly serious) it's impossible to pass over them regardless of what season it is.

Prepare For The Marvels

Captain Marvel returns to the big screen in The Marvels in 2023, and the Avenger has got a new Funko Pop! figure to mark the occasion. One in which she has fire surrounding her hands, just in case you didn't already think she looked incredibly badass.

Captain Marvel hits cinemas again in 2023, and this time she's part of a team whether she wants to admit it or not. To celebrate the release of The Marvels, Funko has crafted a new Captain Marvel Pop! in which the fire you can see around the hero's hands in the movies is part of its design. You can also pick up Pops of the other main characters in the movie if you want to take the plunge and make this a complete set.

Funko Pop! figures vary greatly when it comes to how rare they are, but one of the rarest in existence right now is the Stan Lee Platinum Metallic Pop! Only ten of them were ever made, and if you have one, it's probably worth a lot of money.

A lot of toys and collectibles can diminish in value when removed from their box. That isn't necessarily the case for Funko Pop! figures. As long as the figure and the box are kept in good condition, taking them out of their packaging won't result in them losing value.

As of 2023, there are more than 13,000 Funko Pop! figures and the collection only continues to grow. Suffice to say, it is now well past the point of one person being able to own every single one.
