Scratchboard Art Class with Danna Fruetel

July 31, 5 p.m.

Make your own scratchboard art with local artist, Danna Fruetel! Attendees will learn about the tools and techniques of scratchboard art while creating their own work of art. All materials will be provided. This class is free to attend but registration is required. Ages 18+

August Mystery Bag

Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the library books when you’re done with them - keep the craft! The August theme is “A Lifetime of Stories”. The August bag will include a selection of biographies and memoirs. The craft is a butterfly net wreath. Ages 18+

Bookish Birdhouses Art Show

Birdhouse pick-up begins Aug. 1 (while supplies last)

Bookish Birdhouses Art Show: Sept. 8 – 30

Display your artistic talents and celebrate the love of books at our Bookish Birdhouses Art Show! Pick up a decorative birdhouse at the library beginning Aug. 1 (while supplies last!) with a $1.00 deposit, and decorate it in honor of your favorite book or author. Return your completed birdhouse no later than Sept. 5 to have your deposit returned and be included in our Bookish Birdhouses Art Show. The decorated birdhouses will be on display inside the library Sept. 8 - 30. Submissions should be family-friendly. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate! One birdhouse per person, please. Supplies are limited and we are unable to supply birdhouses to classrooms or businesses.

B.Y.O.B Book Club

Aug. 10, 3 p.m.

Join our new afternoon book club for adults! Choose your own book to read, based on our monthly theme, and share what you read at the meeting. It’s like a potluck for books! The August theme is “Biography”.

Fall Plant Swap

Plant Drop Off: Aug. 26 – 30

Plant Swap: Aug. 31, 5 – 6:30 p.m.

Due to popular demand, we’re offering a second plant swap!

Clean up your flower beds, split those overgrown houseplants, and prepare for autumn planting at our fall plant swap. Drop off your extra or unwanted plants and bulbs at the library Aug. 26 - 30 and pick up a swap ticket for each plant you bring in. Donations may include houseplants, perennials, and bulbs. Bring your tickets back on Aug. 31 between 5 - 6:30 p.m. to exchange them for new plants to take home. Plants must be healthy, rooted in soil (excluding bulbs), and include identification. Questions?
